The Discovery 5 launched on EVA2 in 2017 and transitioned to CAN4 with the 2023 facelift. Both architectures support full DOIP diagnostics and module programming via Pathfinder.
The Discovery 5 uses a central gateway with multiple CAN and Ethernet segments. The Terrain Response 2 system, air suspension, and towing electronics communicate via dedicated CAN buses. The 2023+ facelift models use enhanced CAN FD networks.

Full DOIP diagnostics on the standard OBD-II port. 2017-2022 models can use Pathfinder with genuine JLR DOIP VCI. 2023+ facelift requires Pathfinder 2023+ with latest firmware. The interface supports extended diagnostic sessions and security access.
Module programming is performed via Pathfinder's online service. CCF editing is supported on all Discovery 5 variants for feature activation, market settings, and towing configuration changes. The Terrain Response 2 system can be calibrated via service routines.
